Team manager Willy Sagnol confident ahead of opening game against Turkey

Georgia will make their debut at the European Championships when they face Turkey in Group F on Tuesday. Manager Willy Sagnol is confident that his team will give a good account of themselves and will not be overawed by the occasion.

“We are very excited to be here and we will give everything we have,” said Sagnol. “We know that Turkey is a strong team, but we are also a good team and we will be ready for them.”

Georgia qualified for the tournament for the first time after finishing second in their qualifying group behind Spain. They will be hoping to make a good impression in their first major tournament and will be looking to reach the knockout stages.

Turkey will be a tough test for Georgia, but Sagnol is confident that his team can get a result. “We have a lot of quality in our team and we are confident that we can win,” he said.

The match between Turkey and Georgia will be played at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund on Tuesday at 1700 BST.
